Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for optimizing all buying and inventory control of items within an assigned group of vendors.

  • Review, adjust, approve, and execute purchase orders
  • Effectively work with vendors/brokers and apply buying strategies that maximize the company’s rocurement philosophies
  • Manage service levels, warehouse turns and buy cost
  • Use forecasting methods to track regular, promotional, and seasonal purchases in an effort to ensure optimal product supply levels
  • Coordinate with inventory control to monitor inventory levels and quality to assure proper rotation of product
  • Create special orders and release seasonal survey items according to timeline
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Associate Degree desired
  • Professional Licenses / Certifications: No Licenses or Certifications Requested
  • Vehicle: No Vehicle Requested
  • No Driver’s License Requested

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years supermarket industry experience
  • One year of buying experience helpful
  • Superior accuracy
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook)
  • General math skills
  • Detail oriented
