At piggly wiggly we understand the challenges in maintaining a gluten free lifestyle. Having Celiac myself, I know ingredients can be hard to find, items that seem safe can harbor hidden gluten, and some gluten free items are as edible as cardboard. Therefore, in an effort to make your shopping experience (and eating!) more enjoyable, the search to find the best gluten free foods began. Manufacturers from across the country submitted hundreds of samples. Some were okay, some were awful, and a select few were so great I had to double check the label to make sure it really was gluten free! These items I enjoy so much myself, I wanted to share them with you. Hopefully it will take some of the uncertainty out of wondering if a new item is worth trying. If you know of a new item, or would like to submit feedback, I would be happy to hear from you. Simply email me at HealthyPig@shopthepig.com.

My Recommendations

  • GlutenFree_AmysEnchilada2

    Amy’s

Amy’s frozen enchilada meals – This is one of my favorite fast meals. If you don’t feel like Mexican, Amys also makes a great non-dairy mac and cheese, along with frozen pizza, and numerous other varieties.

  • Piggly Wiggly Gluten Free

    Ancient Harvest

Ancient Harvest quinoa pasta and Tinkyada brown rice pasta both have passed the taste test from my kids. No complaints from them equals success.

  • GlutenFree_DomataLivingFlour2

    Domata

Domata Living Flour – I used to make my own pizza dough from scratch. Now I just add water to the Domata flour and the dough is ready to use. Add sauce, your favorite toppings and bake. Ta-da! Homemade pizza!

  • GlutenFree_EvolTeriakiChicken2

    Evol

Evol frozen chicken teriaki bowl – All natural, and comes in a bowl made from sugarcane pulp which is way better for the enviroment than the plastic bowls you’ll find with other frozen meals. Evol bowls come in four flavors including a vegetarian option.

  • GlutenFree_GlutinoBreadcrumbs2

    Glutino

Glutino breadcrumbs - I was skeptical at first, but when I added these corn based crumbs to my meatloaf everyone raved at how moist it was. Only difference in my recipe was the new breadcrumbs. With so many recipies calling for breadcrumbs, this will be a new staple in your pantry.

  • Piggly Wiggly Gluten Free

    Love Grown

Love Grown Granola - is the perfect addition to your favorite yogurt which is a great healthy snack. I personally love that they use only honey and agave to sweeten their products. If that’s not enough to spark your interest, check out the I Can’t Believe It’s Gluten Free price.

  • GlutenFree_TasteofThaiSauce2

    A Taste of Thai

A Taste of Thai pad thai kit or sauce - Whether you’re using a wok or a microwave, this line of Thai products can rival most restaurants. Many family loves pad thai with added tofu and lime, but check out the many other gluten free options. (look for a Taste of Thai in the Asian section)

  • GlutenFree_ThinkThinPBBar2

    Think Thin

Think Thin peanut butter protein bar - After sampling tons of bars, this is one I keep going back to. Plus, its high protein content is great for those with an active lifestyle.
