JOB TITLE: Application Systems Analyst

Position Summary

The Application Systems Analyst trains store operations personnel on installed retail technologies.
Application Analysts customize existing and new applications systems to meet unique requirements of the end users. Application Analysts will gain experience in all facets of Retail Technology systems applications. Retail Technology systems applications include POS support, card marketing support, DSD, video, time and attendance, scale networking, spreadsheets, database, word processing and other off the shelf software applications. Job duties are performed in a generally unsupervised environment. The ability to meet projected timetable is very important. A high degree of personal responsibility and interpersonal communication is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Train operation procedures in regards to existing, updated or new system applications.
• Responsible for all data being accurate when a system application is installed.
• Review end user problems related to systems procedure, data management or desired results. Recommend system or procedure modification to compensate for equipment limitations.
• Coordinates some phases of a system installation. These phases include hardware and software training and documentation.
• Maintain technical and operational knowledge level on all hardware and software systems pertaining to Retail Technology Department.
• Be accessible to users of various systems and software application in resolution of problems.
• Perform troubleshooting on a rotation of after-hours retail operations application emergencies.

Qualifications

• A two year technical degree is required.
• A four year college degree with an emphasis in the business or computer field is preferred.
• Experience in grocery retail, data processing or other retail business is essential and will be weighted against educational requirements.
• Due to the ever changing and geographic nature of Retail Technology in the grocery retail business, flexible work hours and a desire for driving is necessary.
• A high level of professionalism and initiative.
• An ability to communicate Retail Technology systems in a retail operation environment. Good oral and written communications are important.
• Good problem solving skills.
• A general understanding of training, support and documentation methodologies.
• General understanding of MS Windows and SCO UNIX operating systems environment.

JOB TITLE: Inventory Control & Repair Technician
DEPARTMENT: Retail Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for being the contact for Business Systems Support Group (B.S.S.G. ) individuals requesting new or replacement equipment for Retail stores and Corporate Office. Monitoring amount of equipment on hand, involving keeping perpetual inventory, and taking periodic physical inventory. Maintains all equipment for resale or spare parts in an orderly fashion. Performs basic equipment repairs, or sends equipment in to appropriate vendors for repair. Maintain records of equipment supported by B.S.S.G. installed at Retail Stores or Corporate Office Departments. Perform Help Desk duties as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for keeping continuously current inventory records of equipment in-house and on order.
Notifies appropriate personnel when in-house stock reaches order point or when ordered material is past scheduled delivery date. Performs equipment repairs, and maintains records of equipment sent in for repair. Receive and check-in products from purchase orders created by BSSG. Maintain resale and spare parts organized in an efficient manner. On a weekly basis gives B.S.S.G. Clerk the records needed to bill appropriate accounts for equipment purchased. Maintain records of equipment being returned/exchanged from stores. Perform any necessary upgrades of equipment returning from stores. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Maintain records of equipment serviced by Retail Tech. Perform help desk duties as needed.
